Kathy Havlicek, Ph.D., APRN, BC, NP-C is a nurse practitioner who offers excellent patient-focused, compassionate care in both primary care as a family nurse practitioner and in psychiatry/mental health services, as a dually certified nurse practitioner. Kathy’s focus is on wellness, health promotion, disease prevention and patient education.
Kathy provides primary care/family practice and psychiatric mental health care services for all ages, including diagnostic evaluation and treatment of medical, physical and mental health conditions, as well as laboratory testing, prescribing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, counseling services, health and wellness coaching, and parent coaching. Kathy provides thorough, comprehensive care and expertise for both medical/physical and mental health care concerns.
Kathy has extensive experience as a Registered Nurse working at BryanLGH Medical Center (east campus) as a “float” nurse for 20 years on nearly all in-patient units. In addition, Kathy has over 30 years experience working in long term care. Kathy has also worked as a nursing supervisor, nursing educator, and inservice director. Kathy has a B.S. from Nebraska Wesleyan University; a B.S.N. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC); a M.S.N, also from UNMC, and a doctorate in health care administration from Warren National University. Kathy established her private practice corporation, Havco Health Inc. and co-founded Comprehensive Care and Wellness in 2006 after earning a Masters of Science degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is committed to providing excellent, patient-centered service, and holistic, comprehensive care and wellness.
Having earned three national board certifications, Kathy has credentials as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Kathy is a member of Nebraska Nurses Association, Nebraska Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, The Society of Nursing Professionals and Who’s Who in American Nursing, Who’s Who among Executive and Professional Women, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, the National Association of Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the Nebraska Association of Education of Young Children (NeAEYC). She has also received many academic awards and honors. Kathy is married and has two children, as well as several cats, dogs and horses. She plays flute in the Lincoln Community Concert Band and serves on several civic boards.
